Chinense Question: Habanero or Scotch Bonnet

Hi everyone,


Hopefully folks will chime in.  My question is based on having decent heat, but mainly full of flavor and taste.  Heat i would hope to be around 200K to be good, but does not need to hit the Red Savina range.  So having said that.... what is more flavorful to grow and cook with?

Habanero: and if so which one?


Scotch Bonnet: which one? I know there are not as many varieties as with the Habanero.


So far i am sold on growing my Datil every year.But looking for something with a bit more heat but still packing a lot of flavor and not just heat.  Red Savina is good and packs great, but I think it starts to loose some flavor compared to a Datil imho.  




Biker Billy Jalapeno

Hi all,


I understand that Biker Billy Jalapeño is not a true jalapeño, it is a hybrid.  However, I like the flavor and heat that comes off this pepper.  Especially if I let them ripen to nice deep red.


That being said, has anyone kept any seeds and been successful in propegating it from saved seeds.  I can't tell anywhere if it is a F1 Hybrid, or if it is a stable hybrid like F5... and still called a hybrid by Burpee.  




I am growing Craig's Grande Jalapeño this year, but not sure if it is a hybrid or a stable variety.





Baccatum Peppers. Question about flavor

Hi everyone...


This is to all the recent Baccatum loving / praise posts..... lol  (and no this is not a attack.  Its a honest question)


Honestly from the whole spectrum Baccatum so far has to be the absolute lowest on my like scale for peppers.  I like Chinense, frutescens, but I can eat certain Anuums all day long.  Seriously, like right off the plant everytime i am in the garden.  Anyways, i digress.   I have grown the following baccatums in the past.


Bishop Hat

Aji Habanero


Aji Red


While they have a "decent flavor" (blondie sucked, totally bland i thought), they all had this weird like almost soapy after taste.  Actually the reason I stopped growing orange Habs also.  Some reason all strains i grew of Orange habs had this nasty aftertaste also.  So is it just these certain strains? am i doing something wrong in my feedings ? (I use mainly House & Garden Soil 1 and H&G additives for fertilizer).  Almost everyone speaks so highly of this Baccatum flavor.  What am i doing wrong that mine have a horrible weird after taste???

Goat's Weed Seeds, WTB or Trade

Good day everyone

I lost my Goat's weed seeds. I would like to buy or trade with someone for some seeds. I am speaking of the one that has the Pubescens hair pattern, pods grow upright and are initially black before ripening to green. There are other varieties but I am not interested currently in other ones. Thanks for the help.


WTB Thai Hazelwood Seeds

Good day folks,


I am interested in buying some Thai Hazelwood seeds if anyone has any for sale.


Also looking for any Thai / Vietnamese hot pepper seeds if anyone has any other for sale.  But top priority is the Hazelwood.  Had a few pods last year to taste.  Idiot that i am didn't save seeds.  Tasted as a great Cayenne type pepper to me.
