As I don't really do glogs, I thought I'd share a few pictures of my hauls this season.
This is the first major haul so far, I've been picking ripe pods here and there, but this one was a bulk lot.
Sugar Rush Cream, Purple UFO, Trinidad Perfume x Trinidad Seasoning, Pimenta Puma, WirriWirri Round, Orange Aji Fantasy, Bahamian Goat, Yellow Cayenne, Bulgarian Carrot, Aji Cito, Bhut x Cayenne, Calabrese Mazzetti, Purple Haze and a mixture of Rocoto and Mini Rocoto.
I found this pepper at a local park growing wild, there were quite a few plants, some I would believe to be more than one season old. We are at the end of our season here, yet these plants were still flowering and in perfect health.
Slender leaves, with pods that start green and ripen to orange. I would say orange would be the final color as I saw no red pods and the pods I picked were very juicy and detached from the calyx very easily.
Beautiful looking flower.
They are the sweetest tasting peppers I have ever had, with a taste very similar to a Nectarine. However, the aftertaste is very bitter, to the point of being unpleasant. Heat was not detectable at all.
Grilled T-Bone with Arancini balls and side salad.
T-Bones seasoned with my own spice mix, and cooked on my gas grill.
Arancini balls with Macedonian spicy sausage, Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese and fresh Parsley. These were a test TD entry, but unfortunately I had to work right through last weekend so was unable to enter. Seems Dru nailed them anyway.
(Note: if you don't have a deep fryer and are forced to fry in a pan, you'll most likely end up with Arancini cubes/pyramids......)
