Saludos desde Oregon (Greetings from Oregon!)

I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to bite the bullet and make an account. My name is Antonio, and it's a pleasure to finally interact with you all.

I've been growing chiles for more than 20 years but am just now shifting it from hobby to career. I'll be farming 2 acres this year to start the foundations for my spicy foods business and, I'm currently growing 107 varieties of capsicum (around 4000 total).

While I've got plenty of emotional support from friends, family, and colleagues, I need a bit more than that and am hoping to contract a consultant (or two) to help me make sure my everything is in order. If any of y'all think you could help, I'd love to chat more.

Really looking forward to the this season. Wishing you all success in your agricultural and culinary endeavors!

:welcome: , fellow Oregonian. Your grow plan sounds
just great, really ambitious. Good luck bringing your
business to fruition. I am looking forward to seeing
your grow in the grow logs. Where in OR are you?

logs from his mega chili farming days.

I'm currently based out of Eugene, but I am in the market for a real farm (hoping for at least 50 acres), so I may be moving elsewhere within the state before too long.

My ultimate goal is complete vertical integration and to be growing everything I make/sell (except pineapple and mangoes, as they require too much effort to grow here), and that's going to require some space. I use a lot of fruits in my sauces and jellies, and I've recently been playing with cold hardy citrus, too (flying dragon, Yuzu, and Yuzu hybrids).

I've really enjoyed reading your posts, Paul. Thanks for the reply. I'll dig up Trent's grow logs today, as I need something to keep me occupied while it continues to rain outside.

Thanks, Akoyeh. I think you will really find his
logs informative and extremely interesting.
