Beginner to peppers...

Welcome to Pepperlandia. :welcome: Plenty of shoulders to lean over and learn from around here. This is where I learned/learning. With plenty of time to prepare you have time to make top-grade potting media for that 2+ cy of mix you'll need for those 50 bags. That's almost $1500 worth for the good stuff (Coast of Maine)from the store by the bag. Homemade, you could probably beat $350 including good ferts if you can handle bulks. Start mixing it now and you'll have time for it to age, and test it with lettuce, plus the fun of getting your hands dirty. Good Luck!

P.S. My first year this using a few bags. I'm liking the Root Pouches and Home Depot can get pretty colors at a good price. Probably be a sale come fall.

Is there a tutorial for this?

Ahoy there! Welcome aboard!

You know, we may be past last frost, but you could bang together a few late starts pretty quick at a big box. Nothing for learning like first-hand experience! Even Home Depot will have some hab seeds on hand, and I bet you could find packs of reapers and ghosts (or even plants) at a local nursery.

Most certainly. The first 3-20 pages of this thread cover the topic pretty well but no doubt the other 700+ pages have something to glean. InTheGarden, the author, knows practical theory very well, and teaches when you can and can't be flexible but always aiming toward great results the easiest, cheapest way possible. I spun up a quick and hasty spreadsheet to simplify the recipe math when making various size batches and help with keeping the ingrdients in balance.

Hello all,

I've been wanting to grow superhots for years but always ran into issues with seeds etc. This year was so busy I missed my window. So now I'm here to learn and next year I'm wanting to have 50 plants in 10 gallon grow bags. I'm looking for sure at reapers, Scorpions and ghost chillis; I may add in a few chocolate habaneros.
Hey Marcus, weclome! If you're prepared to overwinter, I'd say you're good to plant some up still now and get a head start on next year! You may not get any fruit this year, but having established plants will get you a bigger crop next year than starting from scratch. I planted towards the end of May last year, and I found the seedlings came on really quickly because of the longer, warmer days this time of year in the UK.
