annuum Step daughter eating jalapeno

We may have a chilihead in training here. She wanted to eat a bhut but I figured it would be best if she started with a jalapeno. I don't think she is quite ready for the leap yet. She did very well with the jalapeno though considering it was her first hot pepper ever. I told her if she picked it off my plant she had to finish it. I know she has a long way to go to catch up to Snacks but hey, she is only 10.

why is it still green

It should be ripe and hot :mouthonfire: not green and mild. 8)

Still at 10y.o thats a good start :) Best of luck to her future experiences and i hope she gets to enjoy a Naga soon :mouthonfire:

She will be eating a Bhut before long lol.

She did really good! :) Cheers! She'll work her way up to a bhut in no time. I remember when I was about her age, it feels much more intense when you're not used to it. Especially, when you don't have chile heads in your family.

I myself am not ready for a superhot. We both ate a serrano tonight together cuz she wanted to step it up. She only got down 2 bites. I ate mine but it was disgusting. The heat was no problem but it was the worst tasting pepper I ever ate. I couldn't post that vid as I almost puked. Yuck. I'll never eat one of those again.

Was it red or green?

It was green but could they be that much better when ripe?

I like the taste of serranos, but IMO they have better uses than eating fresh. They're great for salsa and pickling, or adding to chili etc. When ripe they get a bit softer and don't taste so "green".

ATTAGIRL!!!! She is now officially a Chilihead!!!!!

And yes, a Jalapeno should be green, and hot! I'm wwith muskymojo on the serrano thing..
