That looks like pepper maggot fly damage. We get them here in South Africa, looks the same. Check on other fruit for 1 - 3 black spots like stings. Hopefully I'm wrong

That will make a nice deep reservoir for the roots. Also no need to fill them as often. All the best. Will be watching

Hey guys 1 month late on my pod entry but at least got some..

I've in South Africa, Durban, home of the poison and I can tell you know that the Rocotos grow well here, we have sub tropical climate. Just imagine where they originate from 😉. Its all about strategy. A nice shade cloth from the hot midday sun, they love rain and a bit of wind also.

That purple thunder sounds like a winner 🤩 the Cap 455 Baccatum will also do nicely.

Thank you. My favourites are bbgs and Baccatums so I had to do a cross with the 2. Anything could happen in F2 though. It's going to be fun growing out future generations

Thank you very much, I've tried a number of pods. Off the 3 plants I grew, most pods had the same taste. I culled one plant as it was giving small round fruit only, with no seeds. The 2nd plant with the pods pictured in my post have 2 types of taste. One is very sweet raspberry like sweetness...
