    plant-care bone meal issues

I can't believe it didn't drop that pepper. Looking much happier, well done. Just out of curiosity, what does the pH read as now?

fertilizer-nutrients How much dry fertilizer to use

I assume then, this isn't slow release fertiliser, in which case, why would you want to mix it into the potting mix? Tried looking up using top dressing granular fertiliser in potting mix, the information I found is 'don't use in potting mix' from professional sources. I'm guessing it's not...

    plant-care watering

An old school trick, I stick my finger in the soil. The top of the soil is supposed to be dry, as long as my finger feels damp when it comes out, it's fine.

In that case then I would guess it's not a nute burn. Possible wind or watering issue would be my best guess. The yellowing is a little suspect. The fact you are giving nutes at all makes it highly unlikely to me to be a deficiency. I would do a pH test because I enjoy amateur science. Salt burn...

    glog Purple Pepper Project

Cute girl, reminds me of doing this stuff with my daughter at that age. Mine is 13 now though, a hard worker to be fair but the enthusiasm they have at that age was my huge motivator. Now I ask her to do stuff with me, it's like chores to her. The dead tips on those leaves, did they turn black...

Then I guess it is nute burn, but very odd to see the pH go up, not down, in a nute overdose.

    plant-care bone meal issues

LOL, what did you do!!! I have never in my life seen this! I don't normally trust those digital testers but it says 7?? My guess would be root rot, assuming you added LOADS of bonemeal, the medium would have very high water retention. Assuming the pH isn't way off and there is plenty of...

This looks really cool. Tell us a little more about the compost that went into your raised beds? Looks like lots of perlite went in.

glog 2025 Superhot Pepper Seeds ATTEMPT #2

A real shame. I had a bunch of seed fail too this year. I have a temperature controlled setup with a thermostat to keep things warm in my polytunnel but then a freak early spring hot day cooked everything, now I am looking for somewhere more shaded to run my setup. I highly recommend getting a...

Just curious, I notice a lack of a thermostat on your setup. What are you using to regulate your temps?

    fertilizer-nutrients Antagonistic fertilizer interactions

Great stuff thanks. The link in the article was broken for me but I found the paper: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321506568_Effects_of_Nutrient_Antagonism_and_Synergism_on_Yield_and_Fertilizer_Use_Efficiency This is very interesting but doesn't seem to factor growth medium. IIRC...

plant-care Minimum Temps for C. chinense Plant Out?

My responding might not be helpful as I live somewhere far from you but I wait until night temps are consistently above 10c, then I move into a well sheltered area to prevent wind chill. I would have assumed consistent night temp drops below 14c would cause blossom drop, like with tomatoes, but...

pruning-topping Should i be removing these?

I know this is a late reply but, if you are referring to the first flowers from the initial division, then yes, that is the common practice among professional/commercial growers, because you can get too many nutrients going to that first pepper. I know this from having worked in such greenhouses.

soil-media I Need to Update Prior Advice I Gave!!

Sounds allelopathic, in which case it's specifically a green wood issue, which is already full of issues for a growing medium. The other thing it could be is a metals issue but it's unclear just how much toxicity that could cause, possibly an issue from years of build up from trees pulling...
