5 lbs Raw Peanuts
LOTS OF SALT (approx 1 pound)
1 sliced Onion
1 1/2 TBS ground Cayenne Pepper
1 handful of Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
5-6 JalapeƱo Peppers sliced into rings (seeds in)
2 Habanero Peppers (finely chopped)
Plenty of Cold Beer
Rinse off your raw or green peanuts to remove dirt. Next give your peanuts a soak in water for 2 hours. In the meantime bring your water and salt to a rolling boil in a 35 qt. outdoor cooker. Add peanuts and let boil for at least 4 hours. Reduce the heat to a simmer and add your onions, cayenne pepper, pepper flakes, jalapenos, habaneros, and anything else you can find to throw in the pot. Simmer for another 4-8 hours. Kill the heat and let rest (allow flavors to soak in) for another 20-30 mins. before serving... enjoy with your favorite cold beer!
Don't have an outdoor cooker? Reduce recipe and use your crokpot.
Try adding broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower after boiling peanuts (durring rest/soak time).
