@Grass Snake i woudn't throw everything away yet, but i would certainly sow a lot more than you did. I purchased some violet sparkle (bell type) seeds of ebay last year (crappy idea i know but anyway). My first round of germination never took off. I ended up sowing everything (20-30 seeds...

    Winter Indoor Growing Adventure

I got a few peppers last winter from plants brought back in and put in front of a south facing window. You can definitely expect fruits, but not many and low seedcount per pod. As mentioned above, expect a LOT of dropped flowers.

overwintering OW late starts for fun and profit?

If you have room just let them grow through winter, this will give you much bigger plants come spring. No need for grow lamps if you have sunny enough windows.

    beer Bou's seasonal beer recipes

Making good beer is easy. Making the exact same beer twice is VERY difficult. Clearly you are in this scenario so rest assured your beer will probably be very good, just not what you hoped for

indoor Mark what flowers have been pollinated

True. But it won't cause a flower to drop

indoor Mark what flowers have been pollinated

In nature a flower can get pollinated hundreds of times per day (each time a bee visits it). A flower can't really be overpollinated. As for markings ink on the petals won't hurt they fall anyway. Straws or twine are also viable options.

capsaicin what can i use to dissolve capsaicin crystals

Grams of capsaicin ÷ (grams of capsaicin + grams of solvent) × 16 million Let say you dissolve 3 grams of capsaicin in 3 grams of alcool it would give : 3÷(3+3) ×16 000 000 3÷6 × 16 000 000 = 8 million scoville Yes for this formula to work you need GRAMS of solvent not ML of solvent.

capsaicin what can i use to dissolve capsaicin crystals

Problem is capsaicin is not water soluble so it won't really dissolve in saliva. Hence why pure capsaicin doesn't feel "that" hot

capsaicin what can i use to dissolve capsaicin crystals

In this case you can consider 16m as theoretical. If capsaicin is not dissolved in something. It won't reach your pain receptor and simply do nothing. If you know where the scoville scale comes from, 16m unit is real, it really needs to be diluted 16 million times to be undetectable by normal...

Next best option would be a good dose of compost/composted manure. This will add organic matter to your soil. Problem with sandy soils is that everything gets leached out of it quickly. Organic matter will help retention of useful minerals (nutrients), it will also provide some on its own and...

Well you can can simply trim your trees/hedges, pass all the trimmed branches in a chipper and there you go. You could also ask your city about the chipped wood they produce they may be using it or you could get some for free as it is sometimes just dumped. You ca also ask companie who trim...

pics Are these considered leggy seedlings? *Pics*

True. Even more using hard water that is usually slightly basic. But it doesn't change the fact that adding Ca over Ca-rich water is useless at best and creating problems at worst. In particular too much Ca will inhibit iron uptake wich will end up with very diseased plants

If your water is very hard don't add eggshells. Hardwater is already full of calcium no need to add more you just risk overdosing

A soil test is never a bad idea. But whatever your results are a great way to enhance your soil is RCW (ramial fragmented wood), also called BRF (bois raméal fragmenté). Basically its just green branches up to 3" diameter that has been chipped. You simply add a few inch of it on top of your soil...
