Pulpiteer 2015 - New Year, New Hopes

Awesome progress, Andy! I wish I could do peppers this year, yet another year of transition and spiritual growth, and some concessions had to be made. I will be back next year, rest assured! Keep it up, God bless, and hope you and the family continue to flourish in your new life :)

Pulpiteer 2015 - New Year, New Hopes

Wow, relocation is doin' fine for you, eh, Andy? It's great to see you thriving in the garden again, always a pleasure to duck in and see how things are going. Been a weird year, and I've been in hibernation, but it feels like no time at all, too. The paradox of life, I guess. Take care, God...

    Meatfreak 2015 Glog

Nice start to the season, Stefan! I feel out of place on the forums these days, since I cannot participate in growing for the forseeable future :(  Since my move to Texas, having a non-patio apartment makes things tough, so I am on hiatus for a time. Once I get a place somewhere down the line...

(CLOSED) Brazilian Starfish (sold) or Congo SR (dehydrated) sfrb $12

Nice looking pods, wish I had gotten in on the Brazilian Starfish. Grew those last year and loved them, phenomenal heat, too, especially just before full ripeness :)

"Most" Raw Chinenses: Yuck! A Correction...

I love the taste of most C.Chinense, especially the chocolate and white types. The chocolates have a primal, passionfruit-hinted flavor that some describe as "earthy". The white Chinenses to me have a very bright, fruity, fresh flavor that goes well in fruit-based salsas/sauces.

    chinense Hotter than Reapers?

Douglah x Butch T is an absolute screamer! Jay's Red Ghost Scorpion kicked my A**, too!! Judy (PepperLover) has an astoundingly hot 7-Pot Chaguanas that wrecked my taste buds and guts were on fire 10 hours later! +1 on the Red Brain Strain, that one got me to stop eating whole nuclear hots for 3...

    mystery pepper #3

Morouga, or it could be a Red 7-Pot, maybe SR Gigantic, or even another similar variety?

    mystery pepper #2

I don't think it's a Jolokia, as both of those varieties have much more mottled and pimply skin than the one in your pictures.

    mystery pepper

Scorpions +1, but which kind, let us know when they fully change color :D

fertilizer Does anyone use egg shells for fertilizer?

Let them dry out first, and then crush them into dust and just till them into your soil for the peppers. They are great for calcium and phosphorus in particular, as well as other trace minerals. It is important to compost them first, to prevent bacteria from entering the root system of the...

    What is with this plant?

Yeah, sounds like too much nitrogen. The plant is expending energy to produce tons of foliage and reinforcing the existing structures with more cellulose, which is usually a symptom of excess nitrogen. Try just watering plain water for awhile, to flush out the soil a bit, and then try a plant...

    What is with this plant?

Looks to me like too much nitrogen in the soil. I had a Jamaican Hot Chocolate that did that, just tons of narrow leaves, veeeeeeeeery bushy, even for a C.Chinense, and never even produced a single flower bud :( Turns out that too much nitrogen and not enough potassium or phosphorus will do that.
