not sure about wastewater. but 5gal should work fine. my 5 Gal Kratky pepper plants use a lot of water. I let it get kind of low before switching nutrients and buckets

I was thinking about some of that cheap space blanket Mylar. I have some 3D-printed towers I would like to use. Just this Florida heat can be a bummer. Maybe I just need to put the buckets in the ground.
