Something else I have been doing this year is removing the lower leaves and suckers. The stalks in some of these plants are almost 2” around at the base.

    Updated Growth - 3 weeks

@Kramer, the plants stay in my home office/shed that is not a conditioned space. It get in the low 60s in the building at night and up to 70 during the day. I started putting them outside when the day time temps are at least in the 60's so they can get some shaded sun and a light breeze. A few...

    Updated Growth - 3 weeks

Hi all, So, it's been a few weeks since my first growing post of the season. Most of the plants are growing quite well. I only water once per week or when the soil is dry more than 1/2" down. I have a few plants that are experiencing leaf curl...specifically curling down/under. Starting to drop...

I started these by seed January 15th so this is 6 1/2 weeks of progress. Last year, I did not have a greenhouse, grow lights or heat pads and they took 45 -60 days to germinate. this year, I also soaked the seeds in water for 12 hours before planting them in the Miracle grow seed starter mix. I...

    fermenting First ferment

So it's been a week and my peppers have turned a full green color which is a good thing from what I have read. However, I haven't seen any bubbles forming. The mixture smells pleasantly sour but no bubbling. Is this an issue?

Hello everyone, I have 2 jars on jalapenos fermenting. In each jar I put 4 cups of filtered water with 3tbs of pink Himalayan sea salt. The mixture is cloudy now. I started the ferment on 8/8. I cannot get this to fruit!

...I got to thinking...did you start the plant from seed? I started a Ghostly Jalapeno plant by seed this year and they thing is nearly 36" tall and has NO flowers on it. I just noticed it today when I was relocating my potted plants back outside (brought them in due to tropical storm that came...

I cannot get this to fruit!

I had a plant last year that wouldn't produce around this time frame so I cut about 6 inches off the top and new shoots came out in no time and produced flowers...could've been dumb luck though. I am not suggesting this. I had plenty of other pepper plants so i didn't mind experimenting on 1.

Tropical Storm Heading to Delaware - Help my Potted Plants!!

I took your advice and pulling the fabrics pots up and took them into the shed. the roots are all small feeder roots so I would hope they could regrow easily after only being uprooted for a couple of days.

Tropical Storm Heading to Delaware - Help my Potted Plants!!

wind gusts up to 70mph...i was also thinking about running chicken wire first so the burlap doesn't whip the plants. The plants already have 3 bamboo stakes per pot with garden twine wrapped around the stakes. I know how bad the winds can get and I fear the branches will snap and the plants will...

Hello all, So I have tropical force winds heading my way tomorrow. All of my pepper plants are in pots...so my first thought was to pick them up and move them indoors. However, when attempting this yesterday with the first fabric pot, I quickly realized the pepper roots have made their way...
