U)<now,
I believe you're correct; After closer examination the nursery purchased plants do have rounder pods like your first picture. So is the wrinkly shape a common trait of red hab's?
Coach was kind enough to drop off a few jars of his home made fresh salsa with me. Two jars were taken to work and shared with my coworkers. One was mild (#2) and the other hot (#5).

I requested a refund and got it for my so-called Bhut seeds. Does not help with the time, expense, effort and the let down when I found out they were habs.
Doesn't sound like they are going to do anything about it except post a disclaimer on their website. Too bad as I'm sure more people will...
Coach came through Big Time! He stopped by while passing through today and set me up with some seeds, fresh pods, salsa and a choc hab seedling. Later this week I'll post a review on the salsa.
I'll be sure to pass along the karma next year. Thank Coach! :)

I'm not too disappointed with my plants as CR has been my favorite hab. The plants are healthy and putting out ton's of fruit, so it should be a good year.
Lot's of good stuff to learn here. Think I'll hang around a while. Thanks all! :)
Yeah, they got me. I bought them from Whatcom seed company in Eugene OR. And yes, they do look very close to my caribbean reds. I'd appreciate it if someone could refer me to a reliable source. Very cool forum, by the way! :)
I bought some seeds back in the spring labeled "Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper". Over the past few weeks I've noticed the pods are looking more and more like habanero. Can anyone confirm? I probably should have bought from a verified source.
