they are without a doubt the hottest pepper ive ever eaten however the next hottest pepper ive ever tried was a habanero

Not sure what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's not a Carolina Reaper. Not red enough (although it MAY get redder), no stinger, and not bumpy enough.
So when you buy a live pepper plant and believe there is a mix-up you have to look at what else they sell:

update: this years peppers are looming larger and gnarliergot this plant from them last year. supposedly carolina reaper but they seem really small. Not sure if its just the way i grew it or if it is actually something else

I am 99% sure thats a red savina as it is one of my favorites.
Reminds me of a Congo Trinidad that I grew many years ago. Not sure if they sell that one, but just throwing it into the mix...

The DB's I've grown look just like Reapers or Scorpions - so I would be looking for the stinger. That's why I don't think it's that.
Red Savina seems to make sense, although that last picture seems a little bumpier than I would expect.

in the newer pics of the green pepper looks like a mustard reaper only not as stippled interesting
