chinense Equis Reaper / Zing chilli peppers ?

Hi Guy's

Has anyone any experience of these two chilli peppers ?

Equis Reaper is apparently a natural mutation/variation of the Carolina Reaper that occurred at Semillas in the Canary Islands.

And Zing a apparently a cross that comes from Michigan and was created by Ryan Karcher

Hi Guy's

I'm surprised no none seems to have any experience or grown either of these 🤔

Well I'm now in possession of seeds for both these varieties 👍 seeds from Semillas and both are on my "maybe" list for 2025.............🤔

As always welcome any input experience or advice 🙂

Hi Guy's

These two varieties are in my 2025 Superhot trial 😁 the seeds came from Semillas germination was 6 out of 6 for the Zing and 5 out of 6 for the Reaper equis 👍

These two are the most robust of all the varieties along with my Hurt berry which came from another vender.

The Zing's are big strong healthy seedlings 🙂 I've another two pricked out .

Reaper equis also strong vigorous seedlings 🙂 also pricked out some already

Looking forward to see how these two turn out....... production, heat, flavour 🤔🤞

One of two or three pod's 👍 this and the Zing have both seemed to suffer far more flower drop than say my Peach ghost jami, Purple Death, Tiberius mauler........🤔

One of two or three Zing pod's very square/blocky so far they seem more union than the Reaper Equis.........

Hi Guy's

Quick update on my experience with these two varieties at first I thought the Zing was going to be better plant but things change ! Both have suffered with alot of flower drop more than other superhots in my greenhouse.

My Zing technically probably has more pod's but they are very small although I'd read their pod's are ......? So currently a bit of a disappointment.

My Reaper Equis all of a sudden seems to have shot ahead ! I love the light green pods simply gorgeous 🥰

Currently of the two I reckon I'd grow the later again going on looks , pod size and production hopefully heat and taste too. Pod phenotype doesn't look particularly like the Semilas website kind of roundish Moruga/ 7 Poty 😂

Although I have got one that's very Original Carolina Reaper phenotype 😎
