Thanks guys... My parents house is 10' up in the air, in '93 we had 6' of water in the house (which ruined it as you can imagine). So when they rebuilt, they had to put it 10' up. My land is higher over all, though their house is on kind of a hill... Should be high and dry here... Still going to keep a close eye on things... Next high tide is 4am, for the canal to breach the bank - the storm surge has to be over 10 feet.

By way of update, the water never made it into my house, and has dropped about 5-6 feet from its peak. The winds are further inland now, so I think the canal will start to drain as normal. 3:30am will be the next high tide... Setting my alarm now. will evacuate to my grandparents house ~15 miles further inland if need be... But it looks like - for now - the worst is behind us.

I don't have many duplicate plants... few habaneros and some jalapeno/serranos (was mixed, so plants not labelled)... i can get you some of the dupes, and if any of the other plants make it through all this and I get some seeds, I'll get some your way...

Can worry about those later... keep yourself and your family safe.. then take care of the house... we'll worry about the peppers later...

So far everything looks to be ok... The canal was still in its place at 4am, my garage got a couple of inches, and one of the three gardens did as well... Next tide according to the chart (rather than my own observations, I had figured it to be) comes at 5pm. I plan to be home, its supposedly going to be about a foot lower than yesterday, which means it will probably reach the back stairs, but most likely no higher.
