JayT I agree with you. In the beginning I think the group was much older than it is now. I think the younger folks are quicker to get defensive.

I haven't been here long enough to really say much, but I have read way..way...way back into the threads and it does seem like there are a bunch of great people who don't post anymore. On the other hand I've met some really swell folks here and even ran in to a few in real life. Don't let the bastards get you down. It is probably just a cycle.

When I joined it seemed to be pure fun. That's why I stayed. THP provides such a great opportunity to be supportive, encouraging, and entertaining. It is still that way, however it's something I don't see as often. We should all try to taste our words before we spit them out. My 2¢.

Supportve is good.

Funny is good.

Abbrasive can even be good, provided it is said with a wink and a smile.

People going out of their way to say 'how much this place sucks now' are not good for the community.

People who's sole reason for being here appears to be to antagonize others are not good for the community.

People who go out of their way to find the most controvertial topics in order to stir shit up are not good for...

the community.

It is the 90/10 rule. 90% of the people here are great, 10% are abbrasive. But the minority stands out and gets attention.

I will do my best to ignore those people and enjoy THP for the great things in the community.

I will continue to post "welcome!" to new members, despite being called out for my post count.

I will continue to post advice in the business forums where I know something that can help people who are where I've been, despite being labelled a "know-it-all" for it.

I will continue to try to be a positive influence in this community because I know that the 90%, while silent, appreciate it, and the 10%, while vocal, will never understand what makes...

this place great.

And as mentioned, that 10% is the same group that's constantly bitching that "this place is going downhill"

They need to invest in a mirror and a self-help book.
