The Hot Pepper

I grow them almost every year. They typically go from green to purple to red. This red is a "truer" red than the standard jalapeno - very rich-colored.

So they will turn red? They were never green. They came from purple flowers and even as the littlest baby pod they were purple, almost black. They have ceased growing for a while now and have just remained purple/black. I only have 3 of them on this tiny little plant.

I'm growing purple jalapeno this year and yes, indeed, they DO turn red at maturity. Happy Harvests!
