The compressor is shot as well as the whole outside unit. I replace the fan motor cap last year myself. This time it ain't somethin' I can fix. $2500 worth of fix. But hey, at least I'll be able to sleep at night when its 94 degrees outside.

nothing worse than parts and labor on a compressor... did it fail disastrously? IE do you need to flush the system?
