Yup! JUst got back from the doc in fact, and she said it looks good. Got stung square in the arm, just below my elbow as I tried to remove it from a plant, resulting in it landing on my arm. Swelled up to the size of a baseball, and ended up getting infected. Luckily, today's the last day I have to take the antibiotics, since it would suck if I'd have to take them while on my trip (alcohol negates antibiotics), and the swelling's down to almost nothing.
See, your removal method was flawed. You should first slice its head off with scissors, then the back side can be left until it won't move any more. Problem prevented. Flame throwers would also be a good idea if you didn't risk burning your plant in the process….
Out of the 8 I removed, this was the only one to get me. The rest never made contact with me. A score of 8 kills to 1 (relatively) minor wound is a win in my book
Brutal. Well I'm glad to hear you healed for your trip. Thanks for the heads up. My instincts always made me shy of those spikes. I've only found two little ones this year. lol I hate hornworms, and now hate em even more cause they stung ya.
