It's not like it is a severe cut that requires stitches, thankfully. It is just in an awkward place on my finger, and it keeps opening up when I bend it too much.
You don't realize how much you use your non-dominant hand until you cut it, too. The new Shun blade left a good gash on my left thumb two weeks ago. Couldn't button a shirt or zip pants without a hassle for awhile there!
I went 3 months with my dominant hand in a cast after hand surgery a few years ago. So I have had plenty of practice using my weaker hand for pretty much everything. It just sucks that I can't yo-yo until this cut heals. I've actually been coming up with a lot of new tricks as of late, so this little downtime is killing my creative mojo.
And in most cases, I would use super glue to close the cut up. But with a 1.25" inch gash running along the underside of my finger...
