It makes perfect sense to renew relations with Cuba while you economically gut it's biggest ally with cheap oil.

While I think it's high time to do so, I'd like to see Cuba make some agreements, like freedom of the press, free flow of information, and free elections.... Part of me thinks this is related to the things with Russia going downhill

That seems to be contrary to the fact that we've surpassed the Saudis in exporting... Hmmm.... there seems to be a ton of geopolitical gamesmanship going on right now. Be very wary. We could be getting into a world of shit soon. Belly up to Cube, but they're still allied to Russia, N. Korea, Venezuela, and Iran. I don't see the Cuban people ending up in the winners' bracket
