Wow. How long has it been since you filed? I went four years once and owed $16K.... took a loan out on my 401K to pay it off.

I lost my job and emptied my 401k. I withheld 25% for taxes but apparently still wasn't enough.

Thanks, Google says if it's over 10k you can file chapter 7 on it and since I owe so much other debts sounds like something worth exploring at least.

yeah, just kiss the next 7 years goodbye as far as your credit goes. I have friends that have done it and not regretted it.
