Black Racers are a species of snake native here. They grow to only a couple feet, but they eat everything like lizards, mice, and even hornworm caterpillars in a pinch. Basically anything that might eat/damage my plants
^Hybrid Mode 01, they actually have a few python and boa species down there. They are an invasive species that escaped from a breeding facility many years ago during a hurricane.
An Everglades trip are both awesome and scary in that regard. Seen way too many invasive boas and pythons down there tangling with the gators and crocs... and winning.
That and people poach the native snakes there like Indigo snakes, which are so docile, people can literally walk up to them in the wild and pick them up. They'd make great pets if they didn't grow to over 8 feet and prefer feeding on other snakes
