LOL. Actually, what I want is a new alarm clock. But no, not a traditional one. I want one like the clock/timer functionality in my smart phone, but separate from my phone. I want to be able to set multiple alarms for different days of the week and at different times of the day, automatically repeating each week and oh, so easy to change with the flick of a wrist. And I don't want it to be my iPod, either. JUST a clock/alarm thing, though yeah, it could still have radio/iPod capability. B...

Why do I want it to be separate from my phone/iPod? Why can't I just use my phone/iPod for this? See, the thing is that I want a dedicated piece of equipment next to my bed. Only humans and a few of the higher animals are able to reason. Consumers have lost this capability. So yes it's unreasonable.

just buy an old iphone 3g or old android and dedicate it as an alarm clock then.
