plants wont do much for indoor air quality unless you live in an air tight space without the coded ventialtion. most houses leak absurd volumes of air.

again sealed environment. real homes dont have fixed amounts of pollutants, and are not perfectly sealed.
products continually outguess chemicals, and air is continually escaping through various leaks within a normal home.

in a new air sealed home or building, an ERV ventilator unit, or just a regular blower is installed to suck out a specific volume of air per sq.ft based on air leakage specs and occupancy and building type etc.

SBS has everything to do with too little air ventilation, at least with respect to volatile organics. depending on plants to mitigate this is shitty to say the least. a building like that should have a ventilation system installed and inspected regularly.
