They are building a brand new subdivision in Cody. Beautiful homes, ideal location, great price, but I don't like the idea of it being run like a communist country, which is what it seems like most are.
they are ok if you have the money and don't mind not having any desire to do anything out of the ordinary on your property. The neighbor hood will look nice which helps maintain home values. Not for me though, not now anyway I enjoy freedom and solitude.
They will care if you have a truck, where each vehicle is parked, and things like having to have shrubs which conceal your A/C unit. It doesn't fit your disposition. I think you would hate it ...
That is what concerns me. I drive a big ole dirty 2001 ram diesel that has never been washed, I want to build my plane and obviously I want to at least have a container garden.
I like things being kept up real nice, I'm no redneck, but I definitely worry about little things like what plants I can have in my back yard. I do have other options, but I have to sacrifice the prime location.
just read the documents. some are very serious about even minor details such as accent lighting and yard lighting... wall fixtures ect. most are not. most are there to keep folks from rebuilding cars in their front lawns and shit like that. you may or may not be able to build your plane... ask your city what the regs are regarding building detached and attached garages. some cities regulate garages such that they have to be so small as to be useless.
the detached garage issue is to prevent people from building guest homes out of sheds or garages. My HOA only makes you keep a green and paint your fascia and siding in subdued blues and greens and tan colors. its not that bad. 80 bucks a year i think.
Oh yeah, I would definitely keep up on my lawn, that is a given. Several of the units have gravel front yards, which is an even bigger plus for me. A little Roundup here and there and done.
i took a class in composite materials one year back when. we riveted quite a bit so yea i know all about how loud they can be. listen... i fire pneumatic nails from my framing nailer inside my atrium up untill midnight. nobody can hear it.
the atrium is brick on 1 sides, insulated with hardi lap sidig on two others. the opening that faces the street is 8' wide. if you work inside a closed off garage nobody will hear you inside their own houses.
my uncle used to pay 100 bucks a month for such nonsense.
