I can't get my yellow rocoto to ripen at all. Weather?

Patience Parker, they just take a really long time. In my experience not much takes longer than pubes to ripen.
I couldn't tell ya what kind exactly GIP, I acquired them from my Mexican friend across town a few years back or so. I got a red, yellow, and orange from him and he said they were all Manzano but after growing them a few years they appear to be Rocoto IMO. His son also gave me a plant four years ago, that appears to be a true yellow Manzano and its still giving me pods.
