@ ajdrew: I was on Chantix for a couple of months, and it had no negative effects. Didn't help me stop smoking, but didn't mess me up, either. It kinda made me all zippity-do-dah. Wasn't bad.
@ irn8cctC2uZ: Funny thing.... I'm sure you have the best intentions, but I'm not sure how you came to a conclusion that my faith was in question based off of my status. My faith is unshakable. My point was that was my sign to wake up and take my health a little more seriou...
I'm already changing my eating habits... which is pretty easy for me to do since I love fish, vegetables, and olive oil. Gonna pick up a treadmill tomorrow or Saturday. I have a box of nicotine patches at home. That's the hard part. Every time I get low on smokes, I panic and go buy more.
I tried zyban too, didn't work for me. It is a antidepressant that is also used to help people quit smoking. Only they call it zyban for stopping smoking so the insurance won't pay for it, at least that was the case for me.
I don't know your personality type, but sometimes changing everything all at once gets to be overwhelming. Making changes one at a time might help keep them permanent. And if you want any veggie recipes inbox me! Sorry for the loss of your friend, but best wishes to your lifestyle change.
