    Went to my Brother-in-law's little brother's wedding in NOLA tonight. He's a member of the Fat City Drum Corps... so naturally, they brought out the drum line and rocked the reception. It was epic! Search them on YouTube

    Turnaround time again... They gave us 9 days to do 21 days worth of workm and we're almost finished on day 5. We'll ride out the weeekend and call it done. 50+ inspections plus any weld repairs. .

    Yep! Got the shelf made. Just have to cut the old one out and weld the new one in. I bought an Old Country Pecos smoker, and they come with the dinkiest little external shelves. Replacing just the shelves puts it in the same league as the Yoder.

    you cant remember everything all the time. books are great for shit you sparingly run into. ive got a number of books just for designing stupid shit like barscreens and decanters for these waste water treatment plants.

    Went to the doctor yesterday for a cholesterol follow-up. He said quit smoking, drinking, eat better, exercise more. First thing this morning, my mom called to tell me my childhood friend died of a heart attack at 41 yrs old. That's my sign.

    Thanks y'all. My biggest driver is that I have a 13 year old daughter... She'll need me to be there to see her graduate and walk her down the aisle some day. I intend to be there for that.

    Has anyone here ever grown vanilla orchid? Tips?

    At one time, i had nearly 1000 orchid plants and I did grow vanilla. it is a BITCH to get to bloom and blooms only last 24 hours and then it takes 8-9 months for the pod to grow. you have to hand pollinate. It likes it pretty warm, about 85 to 90 and high humidity however,you need really good air circulation or you can get root rot and fungal problems on leaves. I finally just decided that, as I went to Mexico every year, it was easier to buy beans as well as liquid vanilla. Not as much f...

    Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm hearing. 3 years to bloom, then 9 months for the pod to be ready. We'll see if I can get past the first year

    Didn't think I was going to do any this year but I just got some seeds in the dirt. Big Guy Hybrid Jalapeno, Greek Pepperoncini, Naga Jolokia, and Devil's Tongues... and that monster yellow Moruga is already sprouting new growth... Louisiana has its advantages!
