We have something very similar, if not the same that grows wild here in Florida. I wondered if the fruits were edible.

Way back when, the word was that the fruits are not edible, likely toxic. I haven't cared one iota since, so haven't looked to see if anything has changed. But, you know, some people will tell you that chiles are toxic. Can a correlation be drawn? ;o)
