Awesome, started here a few weeks back but 10/1 in VA where I hunt, dad just sent me shots of them sighting in my new scope on crossbow

how much power can you get from a cross bow? i always heard they were kinda a joke compared to a compound bow? like.. compound bows can launch these arrows weighing ounces at like 300 fps? how do cross bows compare?

Someone had told you wrong, mine is 373 fps - I can shoot a deer at 60 yards with 0 chance of it ducking or jumping and zero arch compared to a compound

Can't use a crossbow here unless 60+ years old, or have a physical handicap. I could probably qualify for the latter (ruptured bicep tendon), but I prefer a bow.

They changed the law for crossbow in almost every state to allow children and women to ethically hunt using a bow.

Yeah, I agree that everyone should be able to hunt with a crossbow. I think MN will change the law sooner than later. Most states have a couple weird laws that don't make sense. For instance, in MN, we have shotgun zones and rifle zones. I can't deer hunt with a rifle in a shotgun zone, but I can deer hunt with a rifle caliber handgun in a shotgun zone. I can also hunt coyotes with a rifle in a shotgun zone. Just not deer. It makes no sense...

Musky, you had a bicep rupture and didn't have it repaired? Sorry for your loss, man. I had a rupture last Sept. 30, had surgery Oct. 2, missed all kinds of hunting. Zone 241 is HEAVY this year, gonna fill the game freezer! Good luck---

so how many lbs does it take to pull back a cross bow string? its gota be more than a bow right? to compensate for the much shorter stroke distance?

stettoman, I had it repaired. I have no problem with a 70# bow, but I could probably get a dr's note to use a crossbow if I tried.
