Accumulated over time, trying to find one that is actually pretty accurate. Right now I can tell I am running a fever because of the way my eyes feel. But the thermometers range from I am stone-cold dead to running a fever just over 100. Flip a coin!

Battery isn't the prob - I just changed them out to be sure. Analog... hard to find one of those these days. But yes, I plan to buy one, though it will likely not be here for a few days. So BAH again! LOL

The blood pressure machines seem to be just as finicky. I think it's all a scam.

You should be able to calibrate them yourself. A tiny screw adjusts the reading and you set it to 32° F in a glass full of ice, then water.
