highly recommend you treat yourself. more than just a meat probe.
Sliced my index finger open the other day and need to keep a bandaid on it. Fine, except I am lame when it comes to two-finger actions on the mouse pad. Trying to remind myself that this won't last more than a few days...

It didn't happen while preparing food for a safety celebration, did it?

LOL Phil! No, I grabbed a roll of wire mesh the wrong way. In a way I was fortunate as it is very fine wire - got more of a pretty bad paper cut so not so serious. Just deeper and a tad wider.
War has officially begun: Ladiebugs ordered today.

Agave nectar and water is enough to keep them alive for a while, but not terribly long - a few weeks. If you release them outside, they will definitely move on once their natural food source is eliminated. If you release them inside the house and they don't find a way out after their food is gone, they die.

That said, they aren't all terribly finicky, though some varieties are. The ones I released outside last year not only eliminated aphids, but also the hordes of clover...

It's the little things…. Like the collapsible, heatable, steel and silicone colander I ordered arrived today. Used it already, too. Very cool, even if you don't think so! I now get to toss my old wire basket - good stuff!
Have you ever gotten a LIKE notification for a thread you can't even remember posting in, yet alone what you posted? Then you look at the date stamp and see it was just last night? The amazing thing is no drugs or alcohol involved, just a lack of sufficient sleep.
Walked into our local Mex place and the waiter, with a concerned look on his face, asks "where have you been - it's been eight days!?!?" Gotta laugh, because it's true!

I haven't been to my regular Mex. (EVERY Fri.) & Chinese (every other Sun.) in over a year! Like family! Hope they don't think I died. New expenses = changed routine. :(

but do they have little pyramids of green rice?
I am all for trying food I've never tried before. But sometimes even the thriftiest of us has to cave and just toss it. It's bad when you even rinse the food and still end up tossing it.

This was a jarred Asian black bean sauce of a brand we buy the hoisin sauce in. It was like putting a spoonful of salt in your mouth. Worst part was we had put the first eggplant from the garden in it. Shrimp, too. So gross.

Yep, little finger. I only have one plant, but it still has two fruit on it plus lots more flowers. So much better than last year's epic FAIL with the round mauve. Thanks for the recommendation!
Bow, arrows, quiver, food, and drink packed. Clothes and other gear set out. Could it be tomorrow already?

Trip out... if I had read 'quiver' maybe 5 mins ago, I'd had been 'what the hell is that??'... but literally just finished reading an article about how branches of a particular Aloe (dichotoma) are used as quivers in Africa. Why does this shit happen to me so often??? Spooky!

Me: We didn't have any chili mix so I improvised. Him: Garlic, cumin, chile powder, cayenne... what's hard about that? Me: Yeah... about that.... Him: You know it scares me when you talk like that.

Final day of competition for me. Picked up another ribbon. Total of three ribbons plus one medal - not bad, having arrived with no expectations of placing at all. Whoot!!!!

Day 2 of the competition is now over. Ribbon ed in one event, took silver in another. Just two races tomorrow then done. But now - nap time!
Day 1 of the competition is over. I wasn't expecting to even place in today's race but I did. Three races tomorrow, back to bak. If I can just finish all three I will feel good about it.
For those who don't know already, muskymojo has an awesome wife. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some time with her.

I am in MN for the National Senior Games. Musky is out of town but I got to meet his wife and hang out a bit.
I have decided that getting a technical suit on (like Olympic swimmers wear) should be a sport unto itself. Now that I've got it on I don't want to take it off from sheer exhaustion!
Leaving for MN tomorrow to participate in the National Senior Games. That's exciting, but more so is that I get to meet muskymojo's wife and other people from all around the country. Good times!
I don't think it will ever matter how old he or I get - it will always amuse the heck out of me when I find new ways to gross out my son. Ha!

Ouch, randyp. Sorry to hear that. I hope the surgery goes well and that you have a quick recovery. I have an aunt who had both knees replaced. I thought that might slow her down, but she got used to it fairly quickly and is more active than she was before. I hope your hip replacement goes equally well!

No, just sore muscles from an acid build-up. I'm not sure why, but it seems to happen much sooner when running on concrete. I didn't do any more distance than I usually do on the track though a good portion of the path I go on the street is at a slight incline, so that's probably an influencer.
Oh YEAH? Take THAT! And THAT!!! Hahahahaha!
