overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Well then count me out! ........................................................................................................ joking  Hmm, maybe I can get a 40gal drum. Damn it if only I was still at my old job I could get one. Do we know what we are growing yet? SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

I'm not all that dissappointed, Heat wise if you called a Aji Lemon an 8/10 the Hybrid would be a 7/10. Yes it is grown from the same seed pack as the other. I do believe it is a Aji Lemon Hybrid, partly because the plant grows just as strong as an Aji lemon and looked the same in every way...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Ok I've kept Gas waiting long enough. Time to test some Chillies! As you can see there isn't all that much in the Orange pod. Good thing is, it is still hot. Not as hot as Aji Lemon but not by much. Flavour and smell the orange pod is milder then the Aji. Eating with food you wouldn't...

Their not bad, you can tell their a chinese thats for sure. Not as hot as I thought they would be but then I've only eaten the first few pods that aren't fully grown pods. Some of the newer pods look like their skin isn't so smooth, and are bigger. That shape does look like Aji Lemon. Hard to...

It is more orange than yellow, and looking closer it is still alittle green on the backside so it may still turn more orange, or red who knows.

Would you believe that the Aji's are growing both at the same rate. Before the pods the plants looked very similiar. Both have only changed to yellow last 24 hours so didn't want pick them yet. Hmm maybe I should try both of them tomorrow. Would try them tonight but I just cut up some Bih's. I...

How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

I like your way of thinking, half wish Sydney siders were into chilli like you guys in Perth are. Maybe in time, baby steps. ;) Yeah to watch them, bit like watching paint dry. Once the himidity is at a level that your uncomfortable, your plants will grow faster lol.

Feels like I've been waiting for months for the pods to ripen on my bih jolokia, but the weather last few weeks has been crap for chilli plants. My Bih has alot of newer pods that just formed in the last few days. I'm so tempted to just eat a green one sometimes but I just have to hold on...

How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

I feel the same way sometimes when asking for info. I've asked so much, and received so much help, but one day I will try help others with seeds and what not. I hope that we can work towards increasing chilli knowledge here in Australia. So many people, even those that eat chilli everyday know...

How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

Yeah I started last year by buying nusery plants mid september. Good thing tho, the guys on this forum got me up and running. I had seedlings in Feburary, and March and over wintered them outside, and most of the plants are just getting pods now. Do you get frost in the winter? if not then you...

How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

I find if you watch them, day in, day out, they don't move. Take your eyes off them for afew weeks and they grow like crazy. Honestly imho, you probably got started abit late in the season, as did I last year. But us Aussie's still have alot of summer coming. Last December I had stuff all...

Thats one hell of pod there Micca, hope my Red Rocoto do that well. I don't get frost where I live so I'm hoping these will fruit all year round. You want to be careful how much sun they get, would be real easy to kill them if they get too much sun.

    Jmans 2012/2013 Aussie growlog

Not much has changed in my garden last 2 weeks I've had some cold, and windy weather. Some of my plants got pushed over and I had to repot them. Some look a bit wonky but their ok, they weren't fully hardened before the wind hit them. I had to put in a support to help my only black hungarian as...

Mezo`s "super hots" Glog including the 'big' solar dehydrator.

Damn Mezo, thats one hell of a story. I dare say if that happened to me, I would be in hospital. From a heart attack or from mentally losing it I don't know. Interesting thing is in the end you may end up in front as that tent seemed to be on its last legs. It is still early in the season and...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

I'm hanging them up with wire, keeping them out of reach of the dog. (or small children if you have any) So far I havn't caught anything but ants, but the weather has been overcast last few days. Thinking of making small ones with 600ml or smaller bottles to make it easier to place in with the...

I've started to build fruit fly traps to hopefully put a dent in them before they start stuffing up the Tomatoes. Using 2 1.25L coke bottles. Using some apple juice and a drop of morning fresh so the bastarders drown.

Had some windy weather yesterday. Just what I need when I have a massive hangover, going outside and seeing my plants blown over. Some of my plants are now sitting at a 45 degree angle or worse.
