Thanks everyone…I really appreciate it! I don't know how many know this, but real Szechuan (or also called Sichuan) peppercorns have only been legal to import into the U.S. since 2005. It had something to do with a citrus canker bacteria they thought they might carry so now the peppercorns...
I ALWAYS remove peat pots! After I cut them off I have even thrown them in the dirt holes or containers and when I dug them up after the plants were done, they still would not have dissolved into the soil! I truly think (at least in my experience) that they hold back good root and plant growth.
Hope this is not off topic butdoes anyone know of a good source for authentic (and mouth numbing) Szechuan peppercorns??? I have found some on Amazon but they are very expensive and I personally haven't talked to anyone that has ordered them from really anywhere, so I am always leary.
