    Spot the anomaly

Thanks - but totally accidental. Actually, I have been thinking about throwing some different seeds together and seeing what happens...so maybe next time I will give it a "deliberate" try. Maybe...red, yellow and orange!

    Spot the anomaly

Hi pepperhog. I haven't grown Primo's before - but to my untrained eye, they seemed to share similar characteristics like the little tail at the end. Anyway, it appears you are on the right track. I think a yellow seed must have made it into the red seed bag and one germinated before the other...

    Spot the anomaly

OK - so here's the story... So, looks like maybe two seedlings have fused or something...I dont know... Only explanation I can come up with is that I planted a couple of seeds in the same Jiffy. I normally separate multiple seedlings that sprout in the same Jiffy. However, one seed may not...

    Spot the anomaly

Romy6, it may very well be an accident...but the accident would have to be... a Yellow 7 Pot Primo was accidentally put in with a batch of Red 7 Pot Primo seeds, AND I accidentally planted 2 seedlings in one pot. Not impossible I admit... As I said, I will dig around the base next time the...

    Spot the anomaly

Hmmmm, I'm not sure how that would happen millworkman as I only plant one seedling per pot. I might go dig the soil out from the base of the plant and see what happens...

    Spot the anomaly

I got a bit of a surprise when I inspected one of my (actually, seed was from Grant at Jungle Rain) Primo plants today. See if you can see what I am referring to... This MAY be a reason... As you can see, it is growing right next to a Yellow 7 Pot (Y7P on the left, Primo on the right). So...

    flower drop

gday hollan. bhuts tend to be a bit sensitive to weather (and many other things I would think) and do drop their flowers quite readily. so, nothing unusual from my experience. just be grateful when you finally get some pods!

Suggest any pub that is walking distance from a train station - as drink driving is not my thing. That provides quite a lot of options.

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Yeah, you definitely can. I did this last year with about 10 Habs. Planted/germinated in Autumn, overwintered them in a greenhouse without anything more than just closing it up overnight and they were great the following season.

    very sick Scorpions

Yes, I did a bit of repotting myself yesterday as well. Have tied the big ones up so they wont fall over now. Oh yeah...and the greenhouse blew away. Well, not too far. But far enough to knock over everything inside. That has been much more securely anchored now as well. More coming tomorrow...

    very sick Scorpions

Right...so thrips it is... Fortunately (!) I had a fruit fly infestation earlier this year and the treatment for that is also good for thrips (and any other living organism I suspect). The only issue now is the rain. I dont think the treatment is as effective as it could be in the wet. And the...

    very sick Scorpions

Yes...I was afraid of that. The interesting thing is that one of the plants sits amongst a bunch of bhuts and the other sits amongst a bunch of Habs - yet these are the only 2 plants that have been affected. I will try the confidor. But I might wait until the current batch of pods ripen. They...

    very sick Scorpions

We have headed into winter here. However I am not so sure that is the reason for the problems you can see below. I have two Trinidad scorpion plants. They are separated from each other but display the same symptoms. Very small crumpled leaves...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

I had a fruit fly attack this year and ended up nuking them with this stuff. Seemed to do a good job. http://thehotpepper.com/topic/29378-grubs-growing-inside-of-pods-how-to-prevent-them/#entry608846

    Off to Singapore. Any recommendations?

Hi Marinus. Thank you very much - that is very kind of you. I only have one concern and that is the potential for grief from some over zealous customs officer who might stumble upon them on returning to Australia. So I might pass up on the seeds offer - but thank you all the same. I will be...

leaf edges going brown on young plants

It's the same potting mix I have been using for the last couple of years - some sort of "premium" potting mix from the local hardware store. I think maybe it might be a case of one or two seedlings being a little more sensitive to it than the average...
