Transplanted my ~2 month old ghost seedlings that have been growing indoors in 1 pint root pouches (they're now in 2 gal. RPs). I've kept them under 5000K T8 flouros and 4000K CMH bulbs, on 14 hour cycles so they've been doing well. Top watered at first, but I have over 35 seedlings in pint...

After further research, I think it's a damsel bug. Similar to an assassin but its neck is thicker than the head and the antennae are short and stubby. The hind legs also look thicker than they should be, kinda like grasshopper legs.

I just put it outdoors and that thing started squatting on it within 5 minutes. You didn't click on the pic, did you? Try it ;) I think you guys are right about it being an assassin bug. My first pic shows a large proboscis (I thought it was a leg at first lol). Thanks all for the help!

Anybody know what this bug is and should I squash it? Normally, I would just kill it, but I'm going to see if it might be beneficial first. I didn't see it eating the plant so I left it for the time being . . . Pepper content: It's sitting on a Scotch Bonnet :)

Did a search and nothing turned up so I'm posting here. Has anyone used Smart Pots (http://www.smartpots.com/) before? They're basically prolpropylene mesh bags to hold dirt and the porosity helps aeration and overwatering. Seems like a novel idea and sorta makes scientific and practical...

Long time lover of hot, spicy foods and am starting to grow my own for the first time. I'm a big fan of being able to do stuff myself and being self-sufficient, however, I'm just not experienced with growing things! The community here seems legit and helpful so I'm excited to be a part of it!
