HB-101 Plant Vitalizer: Does it work?

Gotcha, thanks for the response. $10/oz is definitely steep!   I probably wouldn't buy this even if it were significantly cheaper, but the sample is a fairly substantial amount if used in the suggested ratio (5 or less drops per gallon) and I don't have a test bed to experiment with. Maybe...

HB-101 Plant Vitalizer: Does it work?

Hello good humans of THP,   I've received a strange package in the mail, for which I may have entered some spurious credentials on an unassuming website purporting to ship me samples, of a miraculous plant cure-all type substance simply called 'HB-101 Plant Vitalizer." More specifically, this...

    raised-bed Raised bed?

I'm near San Jose, CA Have a patch of yard that I dug into which is mostly clay and had grass growing on top, was thinking of this spot as a potential hegelkultur test bed.

    raised-bed Raised bed?

Wow thanks for the intro to hegelkultur. Just went down this rabbithole and have to say I am very interested. Got some rotting ash that my fit the bill here, will do some more reading before trying it out. Would love to read more about your experience if you can share or have posted it elsewhere.

    topping pepper plants?

Very interesting topic!   6 weeks ago I topped for the first time and apprehensively noticed the plant did not visibly grow for 2-3 weeks. I believe this is because as others have mentioned it was renegotiating its development priorities and focusing on roots. I also transplanted it to give it...

    ***Beginner Tips?

Have been having a lot of issues with aphids/thrips and other annoying bugs too. Recently bought a $8 pump sprayer and have been hitting all my plants with neem oil + soap mix. It seems to be helping a lot! I make sure to spray them after sundown when it's cool so the leaves don't burn.

tutorial Growing Hot Peppers Guide + FAQ

Thanks for the very helpful post!!   As a suggestion for future growers who were curious about epsom salt dosage like I was, perhaps you could add this to the post? I have commonly seen a suggested dosage of 1 tablespoon per gallon, every 2-4 weeks. Would be great to know if you have had success...

    Growing in shae

Was thinking of trying some three sister combination in a shady patch of yard as well. The corn should grow up into the sun in my case, so if you're considering a ramp, this may be a natural alternative.

[PEST] Dr. Bronners for pest control?

Got a cheap pump sprayer and rejoiced in the suffering of those reviling insects as the oily soap glazed and glided over their soft bodies. In my tardiness I had let them develop since last week - to build them up only to break them. They will not feel any respite from the torrential mist of death.

[PEST] Dr. Bronners for pest control?

Got it, that's a reasonable prescription. Just sprayed a couple of days ago so will try it out today.   The neem oil came with a spray head but I have some concentrate as well. Any recommendations for sprayers? Was thinking of picking up an el cheapo Home Despot one.

[PEST] Dr. Bronners for pest control?

Nice to hear from you two on this: @Edmick -- I've been thinking of upping the frequency but decided to follow the labeling on the box, seems like it shouldn't be a problem to up it though. @SmokenFire -- Thanks for sharing your experience with castile soap, I'll pick up a proper sprayer to get...

[PEST] Dr. Bronners for pest control?

Hello folks,   I've been having a tough time eradicating my bell peppers, tomatoes, sage, bitter melon, and scarlet runner bean plants of pesky bugs of all varieties. Have been spraying them every 7 days with neem oil (30%) for the last month or so.   I just picked up some Dr. Bronners hemp...
