    seeds Seedlings checkup

If you do a small, one time sprinkle of cinnamon on top of the soil, it should help prevent any mold or fungi from forming.

    Ant problem...

alright so I re-potted the bells. What was interesting though was that the fungi seemed completely isolated to a few pieces of rotting bark. But I did see a few insects in the dirt like a couple of those white centipede looking things, I think they eat roots. But the roots did look very healthy...

    Ant problem...

I was planning on dipping the roots into some Hydrogen Proxide. I saw someone on this forum try that and it seemed to work well with them. Would that get rid of any excess fungi?

    Ant problem...

Thanks for the replies guys. Yea, now I know not to let those damn fungi grow anywhere near my plants. I plant on re-potting my red bells. I figure since I pruned them so much, I might as well prune some roots to help new growth.

    Ant problem...

I posted awhile back about mushrooms growing in my bell pepper pot and what action I should take. But after the help I decided it best to just leave them be, later I came across a much worse problem, ants. These ants are VERY persistent. Originally the red ants were coming from the grass into...

    Mushrooms growing in my pots?!?

I just read around a little and some people claim that it can be beneficial to vegetable plants, the only precaution is to be sure that you wash the fruits really well before consuming. I also had no intention on picking these guys to eat or anything close. I just wanted to know if they can/will...

    Mushrooms growing in my pots?!?

I live in south Florida and its been raining quite a bit lately. I just went out to check on my potted red bells (and others) to find 15-20 brown mushroom heads about a inch tall growing from the soil in the potted red bells. I have no idea if these guys are bad or not, I was hoping for some...

Got it, I tried searching in the soil for the seeds I already planted( looking very carefully) but no luck so I just used the rest of the packet I bought and gave it a go with about 1/6". Appreciate the help. :)

seeds Started a few seeds...need some advice.

Okay well I just looked at my cups again to put things in a better perspective, I may have accidentally exaggerated how deep I planted the seeds. The soil when dry was originally about 4 1/2 inches deep and I planted the seeds about 1 1/2 inches deep. After I watered the soil it shrank overall...

Yea thats what I thought. :( Its potting mix. So do you think its wise to attempt to pull out the seed to replant higher?

seeds Started a few seeds...need some advice.

Hey again guys. I got a couple more questions if nobody minds me asking. :P. Well I have been looking around some articles and websites and I keep seeing different soil used for seeds. Now I am totally oblivious to gardening "no no's" but I think I may have done one. I put seeds in miracle grow...

Perfect I think I got things set now. I plan on moving my seedlings once they sprout to a window with a small fan to keep it company. How long does germination usually take? ( Like how long till I see a sprout do you think? :) ) Thanks guys I really appreciate the help. :D

seeds Started a few seeds...need some advice.

I appreciate the help. I just got one last question. Is it really possible for fungus to grow in such a direct light? There is a lot of heat and light hitting the soil in the cups. Now from what I can tell the first inch or so of soil is perfect, but I can't really tell about the other 3 or 4...

Hehe yea like I said I was rushing. :P lol. But yea I thought maybe 100 may have been a bit too hot. But I just kept reading online how the germination for bhut jolokia's are much better is very warm soil. Guess I got a little carried away. And I also thought the holes might have been too small...

I just started a few seeds. Bhut jolokia and Thai hot peppers. two of each. (unfortunately don' have much room at the moment). But I wanted some advice. I set up a little seedling heatery thing in my garage. Its just something I threw together since I only wanted to start a few seeds and I...
