I had both HSH and Allen Boatman bonnets (among several others) growing this year. I have to say that the HSH does not remind me of any of the other bonnets when it comes to pod shape. The same is true for the papa dreadie bonnets which also have a somewhat unique pod shape...

It's definitely a prime number...🤔

Went ahead and took the Papa Dreadie inside also! Papa Dreadie on the right, HSH on the left... The big wound of the large main branch that broke off a couple of months ago is still clearly visible... Oh, and I planted some Schneider Farms seeds today also. But this time I used my old seed...

Little update: The Jeromín doing fine after it had a hair cut a while back... The overwintering HSH bonnet starting to flush out... And then there was stiil something in the propagator... HSH bonnets from 2023 and 2024 seeds and a couple others that I just put in the soil... SB7J, scotch...

With 1" / 2.5cm, this actually seems like a fat trunk for a one year old plant... Meanwhile, some seeds are in the dirt for the 2025 season! 😜 For now, the only planted varieties are 7pot brain strain yellow and HSH SB. Seeds were planted on September 23th and today 2 HSH seeds popped. I...

I received my HSH seeds today (ordered on September 6th):dance:. Package was opened by the customs but everything was still in there. Ordered 2 packs, they sent me 3 🙂, good for a total of 77 seeds! That's still about €.45 per seed including shipping. But if I plant them all, and save and sell...

This is how the pod ended up... it's not ripe yet, but we had a very cold night and I decided to cut the plant down for overwintering... Before cutting down... ...and after... After repotting...

Just weigh the plant instead of the pods 😁

If you want to speed up ripening, you can take a plant inside for a couple of days. Makes a lot of difference in my experience, pods that were about to start ripening will suddenly ripen...

The nicest fruit of my HSH bonnet plant so far... The typical HSH bonnet shape is clearly visible on this one.

Maybe use some of that hurry cane sugar fo your jelly :seeya:

My seeds are currently held back by customs... let's hope they won't be confiscated... These seeds are totally worth growing! I'm not out of seeds by the way, I just wanted some fresh ones...
