yield 2024 season European season ?

Not sure if you should remove them. I haven't and my plants keep producing new, proper pods. Those little pods are good as snacking peppers though as their heat is much less, there are no seeds in them and taste sweeter than the propper pods 🙂

yield 2024 season European season ?

I have lots of small pods on my bonnet plants that taste nice, contain no seeds and have low heat level. But the last couple of weeks the weather is more like proper summer weather and it shows on the plants. New grown pods are getting a more normal size. All is not lost yet for me 🙂

chinense Another Nice Scotch Bonnet Pepper from Trenton Farmer's Market!

To be honest, almost none of the scotch bonnets I'm growing looks like a "proper" scotch bonnet but more like the ones on that wikipedia picture. I think the proof should be in the taste. I grew habaneros once, having never tasted them before, and taste was to me a huge disappointment. Never...

chinense Another Nice Scotch Bonnet Pepper from Trenton Farmer's Market!

Well... to me they look like habs... I would never call them a scotch bonnet.. Maybe call it a TFM red habanero? 🤔

It's never too early to get started!

The yellow MOA from WHP is growing elongated pods... not exactly MOA like... 🤔 The marabella market SB, also from WHP, is growing pale green yellow pods. I wonder what the ripened color will turn out like... And what a difference a couple of proper summer days make! A week ago this plant...

It's never too early to get started!

While my bonnet plants usually produce pods that not really look like "proper" bonnets, there's a few plants that seem to be producing "true" bonnets. The pods are still really small but the shape is there... Allen Boatman scotch bonnet:... Jamaican true form from Semillas:...

It's never too early to get started!

I'm starting to see some larger pods on my oldest plants. Probanby because we finally have some proper summer weather now. There are also flying quite a few bees and bumble bees around my pepper plants now. Maybe that also makes a difference? The tiny pods I had until now were all nearly to...

What do you do with those tiny pods... eat them, of course 😁 Bahamian goat on the left, papa dreadie in the middle, MOA red on the right... The goat had the least heat and a very clean, neutral taste which I really like. I read sometimes that they probably are the same as the freeport...

And what about the other varieties? Because space became an issue, I had to relocate them... Fruit wise there's not going on a lot here. I have some bonnets growing on the yellow MOA from WHP. The allen boatman is growing a single fruitlet and the beth boyd is also growing a couple of small...
