These are actually made for aquariums and specifically to enhance plant growth. I liked the specs of them and could get them with a good bargain. They perform quite good as a growlight. They are quite powerfull, when put too close to the plants they will do some serious tanning! Specs: 8625 LUX...

Thnx! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and it does the job just fine. Only thing i would change if i were to build a new one, would be to make it a whole lot bigger! 😁

    Growing some tasty stuff

Everything above 12C would be allright, lower temps will stunt the growth too much. I would go for the attic and maybe build or improvise a bigger growspace. It's quite easy to build some sort of tent or big box to house your plants. You could also try to use the heatmat more as a space heater...

    Growing some tasty stuff

I would take the dome off after germination! Such high humidity and temperature is a recipe for disaster. Damping off is something that happens fast and without warning. I guess your headless seedling is the result of just this. Don't know how cold it gets in your garage and attic, but i keep...

That emoji at the end perfectly describes the feeling one may have after almost giving up on seeds and then suddenly be pleasantly surprised by germination! Great feeling! Those helmets do look like they are stuck tightly though.... :seeya:

😁 Don't expect any idylic or rustic countryside scenes at my vegetable garden... I started my working life at greeneries and in professional floriculture, that sure molded my approach to growing vegetables. Only straight rows of proud soldier plants on perfect 4 feet wide plantbeds, if a...

    RYMERPT 2022 into 2023 GLOG

I would go for a good starter soil or some cocobased soil. If you can't find them locally you could sift the soil you are using now to get rid of the big woody pieces. Maybe mix in some crusher sand and some fine aged compost. For nutrients you could use some granulated organic fertilizers...

    RYMERPT 2022 into 2023 GLOG

I noticed several times that the soil you are using is very coarse and full of rough not thoroughly composted material. The rough composition can disturb the right water air mixture in the soil making it hard for the plants to spread their roots. Above all the uncomposted materials are still...

I also grow a lot of vegetables on my alotment garden wich measures about 300 square meters. Most of the peppers will be grown in containers in my backyard though. The sweet peppers will be grown on open ground in the vegetable garden.

    OnlyPeppers 2023

No worries, just a little saprophytic molds. These belong in healthy soil and are beneficial to your plants. The reason you can see them is due to high humidity in your grow environment, normally they just do their job below the surface. Putting up a fan like @Bou suggested and letting the top...
