At the level it would be used, no. Extract is actually commonplace in consumer goods that are spicy and labeled as natural flavor or sometimes it is labeled as capsicum/chili/pepper oleoresin. If you are eating a spicy chip and there are no peppers listed and it says natural flavor, that's extract.
Agree. The Extra Hot = Aged red cayenne peppers, distilled vinegar, water, salt, natural flavorings, and xanthan gum.
I imagine the "natural flavorings" is chili oleoresin (extract). Two tell-tale signs; 1) No other ingredients listed make it hotter and 2) Xanthan gum is needed to emulsify...
