    Making pepper powder...

Thanks, lads! I had first considered using a pestle & mortar then realised I was no longer ignorant of the power of the dust!

I'm almost ready to powder some of my pods and would like to know your method. I'm thinking coffee grinder, maybe?;)

    Seed harvesting sucks....

Oh my sainted Aunt!! You're unique, mate! Back to the serious business of de-seeding a pod: Should it rather be done with fresh pods, or am I on the right track using dried?

Damn - no sympathy from this crowd! LOLOL When you boys have finished laughing, how about some tips?? My nuts are the only things I have that have escaped un-scorched...!

    Seed harvesting sucks....

I've spent the last two days preparing seeds for swapping, and I've been using dried pods. Man, I'm suffering! Never seen so much mucous in one place after my nasal passages were assaulted by the dust! It's gotten so bad, I am now wearing a respiratory mask (good for chemical spillage, I'm...

the tea thread/ tea of the day thread.

Heh heh! Cheers, Jimmy - The whole country is very positive about the event, and security will be extremely tight, so I expect a reasonably organised World Cup. Sadly we don't have a hope in hell and I'm shouting for Italy anyhow...Forza Azzurri!!

    JungleRains Seed Trading List_2010

This list should be published to a scientific journal - It is, without doubt, the definitive work on seed producing and kudos to Mr. Rain...

    Grow Bags

Yeah, that is a drawback, and it should be noted that grow bags are only a temporary respite from the economic cloud. At some point you are going to have to get better pots. The ones I use are not branded, phatlad, so I have no idea what kind they are, but they're a fairly strong, black plastic...

    Aussies...

Thanks, fellas - I'm just concerned that any seeds will germinate too quickly, resulting in too weak a plant going outside, or my having to wait a really long time before it's warm enough to take the plants out at the correct time. This, of course, will create a real problem with indoor space...

    Greetings....

Well, that could also be a lot of fun. You can do your buying with far more experience than you had when you first started! Lol!

    Grow Bags

Yeah, I certainly do, but I'm not sure if my pot mix is the same as others folks on here. It certainly should be, as my actions are usually moulded here. Here's what I do: 30% potting soil 30% compost 20% river sand 20% grow mix The grow mix might well be unnecessary, but it's lovely and soft...

    Aussies...

Yeah, sure is! I lived up in Cairns for a while, taking boats out to the reef and then spending my spare time up at Cape Trib. Nothing better, mate...

    Massive budding

Very interesting dilemma, FTB! My inexperienced guess, is that with all of that energy required from the plant, you are going to get stunted pods, but either way, I'd be concerned about tearing boughs. Lots of pruning or lots of tying up in your future, m'thinks...! ;)

water Rain water in hydro systems?

I use rainwater exclusively in season (when my primitive catch system fills!) and I am very happy with it, though I've never considered checking the PH!
