    Rich's 2022 Log

Ok, these darned peppers are stubborn! Teasing me with all of their unopened flowers.......I'm guessing it's perhaps because we're still getting high 40's at night? Maybe they are just shy. :) Not much to update other than that, but I'm pretty pleased to see some nice growth happening on some...

tutorial Making some puree today...will post pics of the process....it's easy....

Thanks, THP. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it would result in something different. Not necessarily bad, but not the sauce that I know and love.... :) Good thing I have a few months before I have enough peppers to even make some of this puree.....I can come up with more...

I don't disagree at all, so it'll be an adventure. If I had a list of all the misadventures I've had cooking stuff up, it would make War and Peace look like a pamphlet! :)

tutorial Making some puree today...will post pics of the process....it's easy....

If I made the paste, Jon, I'd be making it from my fresh peppers that I'm growing, not from dehydrated peppers. Just noodling on how to use a pepper puree (from fresh peppers) as a replacement for the dehydrated ones in the recipe. Again, just a brain teaser while I wait for my plants to...

tutorial Making some puree today...will post pics of the process....it's easy....

Thanks for that AzJon......but I think I didn't ask the question quite right. I'm thinking that instead of having to rehydrate chiles at all, I could just grab a jar of puree that I have already made, and substitute it into the recipe in place of those dried chiles. The challenge here will be...

tutorial Making some puree today...will post pics of the process....it's easy....

I'm hoping I have a harvest this year that will produce a volume of peppers where this processing method makes sense (and I love the simplicity of it!). Here's what I'm pondering (while enjoying a cigar and whisky)... I love to make Chile Colorado sauce which I use for Chile Colorado...

    grilling Just some wings

Yeah, Chris is awesome! I first connected with him on the old BGE forum when he was just getting started with the business (running it out of his basement.) I've been a customer since he opened, and I love the way he has expanded the line-up of rubs. A lot of people think I'm weird to put a...

    grilling Just some wings

I'm rehabbing an '05 Weber Summit Platinum six-burner grill, so after getting everything in working shape this weekend, I've been putting it through its paces. Tonight I cooked up some wings. Wings dusted with Dizzy Pig Red Eye Express, and finished with a sprinkle of Chipotle powder. Direct...

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

Doing a little field trip for the three plants I still have inside.......I think the little ones will come around, but they aren't super happy right now My transplant is looking ok with some good new, purple growth......not sure about the coloring on some of those large leaves below, but I'll...

    Rich's 2022 Log

Not too much to report this week. Had some good weather (mid 70's all week, high 40's at night), and the pepper kids all seemed to enjoy it. Right now, I've got lots of buds about to pop, but no flowers yet..... My KBX tomato looks to be winning the race to flower..... I also...

SKULLBIKER'S Everything BUT Peppers 2022 GOLOG(growing other log)

@skullbiker, seems kind a not fair that your volunteers are looking better than my shriveled chocolate cherry tomato plant that I have lovingly cared for since birth! ;)

    Rich's 2022 Log

Day 73 on my pepper grow for 2022, and for the most part everyone is doing well. I'll be getting Purple Thunder, BBG #2, Chocolate Habanero and Guajillo planted out to containers from their SOLO cups today. Thought it would be a good time for a group photo (Left2Right: PT F4, Chocolate...

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

PT F4 update..... I'll be planting out one of my Purple Thunder plants today, but thought some comparisons would be interesting...... Both of these plants were sown in my IDOO on the same day (1/25), and germinated within a couple of days of each other. The one on the left was moved to a SOLO...

    pests White Flies??

The Great Aphid Wars of 2022 continue. I've knocked them way back with the NEEM oil, as evidenced by all the corpses. However, I'm still finding a few living ones (is it wrong to enjoy squishing them so much??), so I'll do a spray down every three days for a bit, then see how things are...

    Rich's 2022 Log

It has two modes (Vegetables & Flowers/Fruit). The Veggie setting is a 16 hours on, 8 hours off for the lights. The Flowers/Fruit is 12/12 (I think, haven't used it.....) The fan in the top and water pump in the reservoir automatically run for 5 minutes every 30 minutes. Both the fan and...

    pests White Flies??

Ok, so I googled images of white flies, and I'd say that's not what these are.......I've got aphids! :( Anyway, Neem oil seems like it should do the trick. Little bastards aren't getting my peppers! :) R

    pests White Flies??

I'm pretty sure I've got white flies, but wanted to verify with the smart folks here at THP. I have some NEEM oil on the way, and plan to use that to eradicate whatever these are.....white flies or not! 😡 I've got them on all my indoor plants (washing them frequently) as well as one of my...
