Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

My PT F4 update for the week. Everybody seems to be doing well. The ones I sowed in the Solo cup are definitely behind the IDOO started plants, but all good. The purple coloring sure seems to come out more distinctly under the IDOO lights as opposed to the less powerful cheapie Amazon light......

    Rich's 2022 Log

Happy Sunday, THP!! Well, everything survived while I was out of town. I did a little measuring, and on average there's been about an inch of growth on each of my peppers since planting into containers. They are a little droopy today after I (probably over) watered, so I'll just observe them...

recipe Stir Fry - Chicken and veg

In case anyone wants more details...... Chicken was boneless/skinless thighs diced up Soaked for a couple hours in an eyeballed mix of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and cornstarch I used my Weber with a full chimney to get my CI wok (Lodge) screaming hot.....750F on the IR thermo...

    beer Bou's seasonal beer recipes

Depending on the batch and size of the beans, either 2 or 3. I always sprung for fresh Tahitian Vanilla beans (fancy!), and I think it really made a difference. I'd have to dig up my notes on how long I had them in secondary, can't remember. ....and, of course, soaked in bourbon since it was...

recipe Stir Fry - Chicken and veg

For the first time in way too long, I fired up my Weber kettle and wok for some stir fry. Chicken, mushroom, zucchini, onion, and bean sprouts. Easy, quick, and delicious!

    beer Bou's seasonal beer recipes

@Bou, I had to verify that I read you were serving that on CO2 when I saw the vid. That's a great, creamy looking porter! Love your grain bill, hop adds, step mash schedule, and the vanilla/coconut in the fermenter. Very similar to my winter batch of Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Stout/Porter...

    Rich's 2022 Log

I appreciate the confirmation, Paul, makes me feel better! :) From all the Khang Starr videos I watched and seeing some of his crowded beds, I figured I was probably ok. :) The PT F4 plants will get their own containers.... :) R

    Rich's 2022 Log

I mentioned in my last update that I was heading out of town, and figured planting out my plants from their Solo cups would be a good idea to make plant care easier for my stay at home caretakers while I'm gone. Well, I got it done. :) I've mentioned that I'm a bit of a gardening neophyte, so...

    cooking Sausages, Bison

What did you have in mind for pepper salami? Semi-dry, fermented, or more of a summer sausage/salami? Rigging up something for smoking sausages isn't too terribly difficult with some creativity.....all depends on how much you want to make it! :) I've seen some pretty easy set ups that use a...

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

I'm pretty sure this plant is going to be my winner.....another rather explosive week of growth, and, @PaulG, the color on this beauty! Ya done good! :) Plant #2 put on some good growth, and has that nice purple color.....sorry, crap photos with crap light! :) Plants 3 & 4 are doing their...

food I always wanted to make... BOOM!

Strangely, my brother just sent me a pic he found of someone who had just cooked this as well....the pic didn't specify what cut it was, but we both assumed some version of whole beef shank......and it looks just like what you have there! I'll have to track one down. Looks fantastic! R

    cooking Sausages, Bison

I haven't done any game sausage (don't hunt, and the stuff is too expensive to buy and turn into sausage for me!) :) I make a lot of different Polish and German styles. I've always done natural casings as they work really well for me, so I just haven't explored anything else. Just mixed up a...

    cooking Sausages, Bison

I wondered what type you were making when you mentioned sausage in another thread today..... Bison, now that's not one I've done. They look great, and I love the rich, dark color! Collagen cased? I haven't linked up any sausage in a while, have just been sticking to bulk for patties and...

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

Ya know, it hadn't occurred to me that I updated this just Wednesday......wow, that was a lot of growth in four days! :). While expected, I'm finding the difference in the pace of growth between the IDOO and soil to be pretty interesting.

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

Thank you, Marc. So far my efforts have been confined to opening the envelope Paul sent me, and dropping the seeds into a decent medium in which to grow. All props to the gentleman who created this one! :) R
