I have bad luck or something. One seed is now bloated and the thinner seed had black inside and does not look fertile. Hopefully one of those two seeds will germinate. If not then I have to start again pollination process.
Upper seems healthy?
Cool! There is some C.eximium varietes and I don't know what I have. It's white flower and that is quite unique. Do you have photos somewhere? It's weird that you can try to cross baccatum x eximium but it does not work if you trying eximium x baccatum cross. If the all information of...
I got some nice information now when I looked it up but still a bit confused of the naming. And I did not found true single cross between eximium x pubescens. I found pubescens x eximium crosses and cardenasii x pubescens.
My succes rate for the ripe berry was 33%. A bit low. I only tried to...
I forgot to post fully ripen C. eximium. The tied berry is crossbred. I'm very certain there seeds :) But can't say yet did I succeed. And sorry my previous post has too many grammatical errors. Still learning english.
Yes and no but very useful If you grow outside. Then they are already partially hardened. I grow most of The time indoors so I dont expose them to UV at very beginning.
@Peter S I have UVB 10 light and it's 13W. I have small space for it and it can grow 2-3 small chilies. The lamp is quite close to the chilies. Maybe 15 cm. No issues so far. For my understanding they need more UVA than UVB but both lenghts are useful. And they always name it UVB light and it's...
Not too expensive light. I was expecting a bit higher price but 160$ is not bad and in the EU 174€. Seems decent PAR and good spectrum but I was hoping UV light. But UV LEDs are pricey. It's probably wiser to buy reptile UV fluorescent light it's much cost friendly and UV light helps resin and...
I have germinated many varities with a good success with "a floating boat". I actually make paper pillow that is in the clear plastic box. Then I water it and cover it with a lid but not tighten. After I see sprouts then I put it in to a soil.
This is a bit risky way. I prefer not do this...
I'm trying to create a bridge atm. I have crossed Eximium x pubescens. I'm trying also Eximium x pubescens hybrid to cross with baccatum and maybe with chinense too. I'm going back and front crossing to get it closer.
Edit. I mean I have already crossed eximium x pubescens and its currently F1...
I wast thinking too Aji Fantasy but they taste bad. A good horror chili to grow if u want not want people to grow chilies. it may be something else too or just better grower to make bad taste good.
Yup! I have been doing that and I close the flower with zip pack. I also hand polinated on the 2nd day too. After 3nd day is passed I remove the zip pack I leave it and hope it will start to make a pod :) Pass many flowers with a cotton pud and polinate ur female plant.
I have got good success indoors with bhut jolokia yellow and wild eximium. My bhut jolokia loved >25°C full day growing condition. Also same goes to the eximium after two years passed it did go crazy and loving near 30°C growing conditions. It's had sluggish and slow start but after while it...
Or don't make any seeds. I have one chili plant that whitehotpeppers.com made lots of berries but not any seeds. I'm hoping the biggest ones have some seeds. Also i had one unknow chinense cross from WHP too but I had some germination problem with the seeds. Long germinate time or did not even...
