    Hi from NC!

Welcome to Pepperlandia, Anne. Peppers are a good beginning food plant for new growers. They can be trickier to germinate, but a piece of cake after that. If you are interested in Habenero or beyond heat level,C. chinenses, you'll want to start indoors late January for a late April plant out...

Calling it a wrap on pepper growing 2021. Thanks to all who have encouraged, advised, supplied, and provided all the capsicum commradiere. media method to buffer coco?

This was inspiring. Years ago I successfully grew a few chinense in unbuffered coco using some General Hydroponic then switched over late to an organic tea before plantout. Everything came out just as well as my homemade potting soil. @Blister inspired me; check out some some of his old glogs. j

    Downriver - 2021

I think we grew out the same Dreadie seed lots from @Sawyer and results are very similar. A few stingers, fewer spikes on the bonnet brim.

"Plus tard ne rien...I'm not dead ye...." 2021 Pepper Gloginsummary'

I've been holding out for a CharGriller texas-style barrel smoker, but all the big boxes have been out of stock on a 36" model for awhile, so I finally when to Lowe's for a 30" model like I left behind in the mountains. Lo and behold they were closing-out the 30" Raider grill for 89 bucks and...

I'm just using hickory now. But, I'll throw a stick of wild cherry on with it if it's at hand. I'd like to latch on to some mesquite out of curiosity. 40 mins to an hour or so.

container Using fresh pince bark in container mixture

I've been using some pine fines (3/8") this year straight out of the bag, 50/50 with leaf compost, but mainly for potted young trees. I was taught that it was a good, cheap structural element that gradually broke down to a humus as the plant grew and established. So, it's kind of a 2 for 1...

"Plus tard ne rien...I'm not dead ye...." 2021 Pepper Gloginsummary'

We almost made 90 a couple days this week, but we got a heavy rain which I'd been eyeing to get some tillage radish for cover in the ground. They washed out in someplaces and I had to rake them back in. Used some on my He Shi Ko scallions, and some left over fruit to make an offering to...
