Wow, beautiful looking snake !       Great shots, that's some striking markings on the beetle.   Some of my favourite Peacock spiders.   Maratus pavonis:       Maratus volans:     Staring up to spidey heaven, pondering the meaning of spider life (err ... looking at my flash diffuser)

Nicely captured, m8!       Good shots, Yellowfin2na, that caterpillar won't be doing much more damage in the garden!   A couple more 'jumpers with prey' from me.   No idea what it is eating but there isn't much left:   Common house fly for dinner   Small jumper eating an even smaller jumping...

What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?   Those photos are great! The black caterpillars on that ghostly green foliage make them seeem really creepy and evil IMO.     They look like one of the 'tent caterpillars' to me. Probably the forest tent caterpillar.

No I haven't, all our different vegies are growing together so I'm not going to take the chance plus that area is not really fenced off and I don't want to take any risks with all the foxes we have around here.

We have 10 Muscovies ... there is no friggin' way I would let them anywhere near my peppers ... or for that matter any vegies we are growing.   If they don't eat it, they will shit on it ... SERIOUSLY!!! There is no creature on this planet that shits as much as a Muscovy duck. They have...

Great shots SR :P   Yeah, definitely a Wolf Spider, not sure which one though ... sheesh, there is well over 100 species of Wolfies in Aus so it's not an easy task to positively identify. This site is the best reference site for spiders in Aus. ...

A few more jumping spider with prey shots.   This jumper is a male Opisthoncus polyphemus. They are probably the largest jumper we get around here @ approx. 1/2 inch long.   "The hunter becomes the hunted" - This Doli fly (I think) was just finishing off its meal when it became lunch for the...

Hey smokemaster, thanks for your input but I'm confused.   Are you saying that in my shot above, that it is a type of hoverfly rather than a wasp? As far as I'm aware it's a Yellow Antenna Black Spider Wasp, as seen here: http://www.ozanimals.com/Insect/Spider-Wasp/Pompilidae%20family/.html   or...

This is why I don't like wasps! This poor lil' spidey is still alive but is paralyzed. The wasp will drag it / fly it to its nest to feed the wasp larvae:       I dunno TBH, they may be.     Thanx m8. I do love my time in the garden but TBH, I haven't taken any macro shots for a good 6...
